Banfield Charitable Trust Helps Tsunami Relief Efforts (January 31, 2005)
PORTLAND, Ore. ~ During the months of January and February 2005, the Banfield Charitable Trust will donate 100% of the money collected in Banfield hospital donation boxes for tsunami disaster relief.
"Our practice is deeply saddened by the recent extraordinary tragedy in South Asia," said Sandy Campbell, Banfield Charitable Trust President. "We hope our donation will help struggling families restore their quality of life, and help bring vital medical supplies and food to tsunami survivors as they work toward overcoming the devastation."
Each of Banfield's more than 450 U.S. hospitals have received a temporary sign to place next to their Charitable Trust donation box, notifying clients their contributions will directly support tsunami disaster relief. All money collected will be donated directly to American Red Cross and their tsunami relief fund.
"We have received numerous requests from clients and team members, eager to donate during this unprecedented time of disaster," said Campbell. "By using the donation boxes already in place at each hospital, we are able to provide Banfield families an immediate way to help."
The Banfield Charitable Trust was founded in 2003 to give back to families in communities served by Banfield, The Pet Hospital, and to help advance veterinary medicine.
