Banfield Clients Donate $150,000 to the Banfield Charitable Trust Through New Rabies Vaccine Program (December 15, 2004)
PORTLAND, Ore. ~ The Banfield Charitable Trust, a non-profit organization, has already received more than $150,000 in rabies vaccine donations from Banfield clients in the first six months of the program and expects to raise more than $300,000 annually. Beginning June 2004, Banfield initiated the program where clients have the opportunity to donate $.50 from every rabies vaccination to the Trust. The donations will be used to purchase vaccines and preventive care services for Pets whose families are in financial need.
"Thanks to the generosity of Banfield clients, the Trust will be able to make life better for more Pets and their families in the coming year," said Sandy Campbell, Banfield Charitable Trust President. "These tremendous contributions allow our clients a way to help others less fortunate than themselves."
The Banfield Charitable Trust was founded to "give back" to families in communities served by Banfield, The Pet Hospital, and to help advance veterinary medicine. In addition to providing preventive care to clients in need, the Charitable Trust also supports childhood education about caring for Pets, and various other worthy programs. The IRS has recognized the Banfield Charitable Trust as a 501©(3) public charity that is tax exempt. All donations are tax deductible.
More than 1000 quality veterinarians at Banfield are committed to giving Pets the same quality of care that their human family members receive. Banfield hospitals offer a full-range of comprehensive, quality medical services, computerized medical records, Pet preventive care plans, extended operating hours, and is the only veterinary practice in the world with an extensive quality assurance program. Banfield, The Pet Hospital helps extend the lives of more than 3.5 million Pets each year.
